Such is the success of this scheme that Macmillan is going to fund the availability of cancer related information in 12 more Wiltshire libraries.

Having cancer can lead to a drop in income and incur additional expenses.
The Macmillan Welfare Benefits Adviser based at Salisbury Citizens Advice Bureau can hefp patients to find out about the benefits to which they may be entitled.
They can also help patients apply for Macmillan grants to help with difficulties such as fuel bills, mobility and transport issues.

The service provides comprehensive, independent, confidential and impartial welfare benefits advice and support to people affected by cancer. The key aim is to maximise the income of people with cancer, their carers and families. In addition, the service provides information and advice to health and social care professionals about the financial help available to people with cancer. The service provides support over the phone and by email, as well as face-to-face support on an appointment basis at Salisbury District Hospital (Pembroke Suite), at the bureau, at our outreach offices in Amesbury and Mere or through home visits.
