OLDER NEWS

As many people who live in the Warminster area will know, Macmillan Cancer Support have a long standing and highly respected Fundraising Group based in the town. Led by Sue Harding as the Group Chair, many of the group have reached a time when it is quite appropriate to recognise their long service.

And so it was recently that Steve Goodrick, Fundraising Manager Wiltshire for Macmillan had the pleasure of presenting Sue and seven of her fellow colleagues with certificates to mark this fantastic achievement. Along with Sue receiving her award was:

Sue Bohanna, Anna Addington, Trish Hughes, Betty Steele, Pam Goodger, and Lady Silvie McQuistin (President of the Committee). In total they have put in over 80 years service between them!

Since the early 90’s the group have raised well over £250K which is a fantastic achievement.

Said Steve: There is no doubt that our Warminster Committee have made a huge contribution to the positive impact Macmillan has been able to make in the community, supporting people affected by cancer. We are immensely grateful to the people of this group who have given up so much time and effort over the years. You are truly gold standard!. Thanks so much indeed”
